What is expected from you?
This innovative and exciting study is about understanding family members, close friends, and first responders’ experience of stressful incidents and their support preferences. Most importantly, we will teach our participants how to begin a supportive conversation after a stressful incident, using basic Psychological First Aid (PFA) techniques. We want to understand family members’/friends’ AND first responders experiences before and after engaging in our training. Family members/friends will take part in the training and first responders will be asked for their opinions before and after the training. BOTH of your opinions will be captured through one-to-one meetings, focus groups, and online questionnaires.
If you agree to take part in this study, we will ask you to share your opinion and experiences at three different time points:
- Before you take part in the training
- Directly after you take part in the training
- 6-9 months after you take part in the training
