
Michelle O’Toole

Michelle O’Toole is a researcher in RCSI SIM, Centre for Simulation Education and Research in RCSI, Dublin. She is the Project Manager and Co-PI of the SAFER Families/Friends programme, funded by the Movember Veterans and First Responders Grant Scheme.
She is experienced and accredited as a paramedic tutor and examiner with the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council in Ireland (PHECC). She has specific expertise in teaching both clinical and communication skills to firefighters and paramedics. She is an experienced peer supporter and mentor, gaining accreditation as an approved instructor in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF).
Michelle’s research interests include wellbeing, peer support, post-traumatic growth following adversity and the use of simulation to prepare learners for real world experiences.
